"Bath Races," colored etching, 1810. From the whimsy in "Beef à la Mode," we turn to a more sardonic form of humor not too far from black humor in "Bath Races," one of the Rowlandson prints published by Thomas Tegg in Caricature Magazine (1807-20). Cruel as it may seem, this view of "Cripple's Corner" at Bath still retains a humorous edge.
