| Finding images in books and journal articles |
Books are a great place to find images, but it's hard to search for images in the online catalog. Try keyword search with "pictorial works" or look in the record to see if there are illustrations mentioned.
Helpful keywords to mix and match: anorexia, religious aspects, celibacy, United States, plastic surgery, fasting, asceticism, popular culture, body image, art and religion.
Often journal articles will contain images to illustrate an argument. Citations in Art Index, for instance, will indicate if there are illustrations.
Once you've found useful images in books and articles, your best bet is to scan them so you have them in electronic form for your presentation and paper. Marquand has 2 scanners and a color printer. You can:
Save your scanned images to a disk
Burn them onto a CD
Email them to yourself
Connect to the H drive and save them there
Print them
