About Browsing Fields

You can also use the complementary search command BROWSE to intersect index headings at the point matching or most closely approximating the search value. BROWSE is also available for searching SUBJECTS and AUTHORS.

Use Search if you're not using complex search techniques, such as Boolean or field searching.
